Reading opens up a child’s world.

All children should be able to grow up with readily available books at home. Books at home propel a child further in education and help break the link between poverty and poor academic outcomes.

United Way's goal for 2022 is to raise $14,500 to put 5,800 books into the hands of children in our community. For every $25 raised, 10 books will be distributed to students in Lincoln and Lancaster County.

What a boost this will be for families in our community, giving them a family activity to expand and compliment their children’s education. Through United Way’s Virtual Book Drive, books will be delivered through United Way's nonprofit partners and supported school communities of Campbell and McPhee Elementary Schools this summer.
