What is the UNL Tax Credit Campaign?

The UNL Tax Credit Campaign prepares tax returns for low-income, working families and students for free. It is sponsored by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Center for Civic Engagement in conjunction with the Lincoln EITC Coalition.

MyFreeTaxes

File your federal and state returns for FREE by using United Way’s secure MyFreeTaxes platform. For the 13th year, United Way is providing free online tax filing software to help taxpayers easily and accurately file their taxes from their computer or smartphone.

Child Tax Credit

Thanks to the American Rescue Plan, the vast majority of families will receive $3,000 per child ages 6-17 years old and $3,600 per child under 6 as a result of the increased 2021 Child Tax Credit. Visit childtaxcredit.gov to check your eligibility and get help filing.
